About the author

My name is Kevin Kaufman.  I live in West Lafayette, Indiana. I am married with two grown children and a Chinese-born daughter in college.  I spent most of my work career in business and then headed a non-profit affiliate of the National Christian Foundation in Lafayette, Indiana.  My bachelors degree is from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Some of the credits for that degree were earned earlier while a student at the Moody Bible Institute.

My interest in the Bible's teaching of rewards began with my Foundation work.  As I searched Scripture for the biblical basis of financial stewardship, I discovered that the Bible had much to say about God's promise to reward faithfulness in financial matters.  But I also discovered, to my surprise, that the teaching extends to every aspect of life. Significantly, I noticed that God's reward is often promised to those who endure suffering.

That message became personal to me a couple years later as I experienced ever-increasing pain from osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, with its accompanying chronic fatigue and "brain fog".  The pain prevented sleep and productive work.  I am only able to work productively (such as now - as I write this) for, at most, a few hours per day and then only on an irregular schedule.  I cannot hold a regular job as a result.  Its rather frustrating...

I tell you all that not to complain and certainly not to compare myself to others, many of whom have more difficult circumstances than I ever will have.  Instead, I tell you that to establish my bona fides with those who also suffer.  Thank God I had been familiar with the promises of Scripture going into this trial of pain.  I honestly don't know what I would have done without a biblical perspective on what God was accomplishing through the pain.  That is why I have started this blog, in the hope that others who suffer will find refreshment and encouragement in God's promises to reward those who suffer in faith.

So, let me know you are reading this blog.  Give me feedback!  And write comments that will encourage others in their difficult journey.  Or feel free to email me!

Remember, God will reward you faithfulness!
