I am writing a book entitled God Rewards. Most of what I have to say at this website is based on research for the book - which addresses the importance of this teaching of rewards, describes what the rewards are and how they are earned.
I believe this is a very important topic. Why? Well, for someone such as you who is suffering, this teaching offers great hope. It gives a purpose for the pain and it assures that it will someday accrue to your great benefit.
But this teaching is also important to every person who follows Jesus. Let me illustrate. Suppose for a moment that you know me to be a good financial adviser. If I told you that I had discovered an investment opportunity that would almost certainly triple your money, wouldn't you be interested? Wouldn't you want to know more?
Well, I do have an investment for you! And it will pay much more than that paltry 300%! The return on this investment is infinitely large, because it will accrue for all of eternity. Furthermore, it is a sure thing, because the return is guaranteed by none other than the God Himself!
The investment of which I speak is your life: the time, resources, education, experience, your next breath; everything you have at your disposal. It is given to you to determine how to invest your life. To the extent you give it to the service of God, you will be rewarded - forever. To the extent you do not invest your life in God’s purposes, you will lose those rewards – forever. Everything you do in this life matters to you – forever.
If that is true (and there is a lot of Scripture to support the claim), then this topic is important indeed!
