Udder Joy!

Continuing the theme of...

If you read my earlier post, "Joy" (July 23rd, second entry), you know that joy has been on my mind and in my heart lately.

So, this afternoon a women ahead of me in line at the grocery store put this container of ice cream on the counter.  It made me chuckle.  Cows used to be merely "contented" (Carnation's cows, anyway.)  Now they are joyful!  There are Happy Cow (cheeses), too.  What's with this obsession with cow emotions?

I asked the lady if I could make an unusual request:  "May I take a picture of your ice cream?"

She looked quizzically at me and then at the container and smiled.  "Sure..." she said.

As I took the picture, she asked, "So, do you have something to be especially happy about?"

To which I replied, "Yes!  The Lord has given me joy!"

To which she replied, "Oh, that is good... especially these days!  Sometimes all you can do is throw up your hands and give it to the Lord."

(Update: Maybe attending to the emotions of farm animals isn't so crazy after all....)

Indeed.
